A bitter wind whipped across the graveyard. It penetrated Jae's linen uniform, seeping through to his bones. But he didn't care. He saw it as his rightful punishment for his failure. Whatever discomfort he experienced paled in comparison to what Analla had endured.
He gazed down at the grave. The small mound of dirt and tiny headstone were a pitiful sight to behold. No one so young should die. But the world didn't care. It made no distinction between the young and the old. It took who it wanted when it wanted.
